Turning Ideas into Action

Friday, 22 June 2024 — In this blog, I share how I turned last night’s ideas into this morning’s success, navigated through a busy schedule, and found time to relax in the evening. Here’s how it went and some lessons to draw from the day.
You can probably guess how my day started after the events of yesterday evening. The first thing I did upon waking was dive straight into coding to implement an improvement. It wasn’t just a bug fix, but rather an enhancement to allow reviewers to sign up directly on researchafrica.pub if they weren’t already members. The idea had come to me while watching a movie last night, and by this morning, I had implemented and tested it successfully. By roughly 7 AM, the fix was complete and working locally. That was a win for me!
The day progressed smoothly after that. I did a bit of light reading and then moved on to my daily activities. I had several reference requests to handle, and I needed to edit some videos for my cycling vlog. The video was quite long, so I found a way to shorten it.
After editing the video, I reflected on my day. The time flew by because editing and other tasks took up a significant portion of it. I also updated my blog, which is part of my commitment to self-development and consistency. Most of my scheduled work took place in the afternoon and evening.
In the evening, I sent out emails for the training session we facilitated. I did some writing, reading, and listened to some videos. Despite the busy day, I managed to finish my work early, but the evening was still packed. We had a session called Beyond Success, a John Maxwell training for leaders focusing on personal growth, development, and fulfillment. I’ve been facilitating this program for the past six weeks, and next week is the final session of this seven-week program. If you’d like to join, please reach out to me. This session will focus on people in the UK, though I have previously engaged participants from Nigeria.
After the session, I planned to relax and continue watching a movie. It was indeed a busy day, but very fulfilling. I also got another idea for the app, but I resisted the temptation to work on it immediately and decided to leave it for tomorrow.
For those of you awaiting the refresh recommendation request, don’t worry—it’s coming your way today. Cheers, and happy weekend! Thanks for keeping up with my blog.
